Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe
Wind Direction: ssw
Wind Stength: 15/20
Surf / Sea State: lumpy :(
Air Temperature: 13
Sea Temperature: 10
Weather: cloudy
Max Speed: 24.49 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 10.25 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

This was my first time out for over a month after being away for March skiing in France and what a great time we had in our little campervan so I was really keen to get out on the water again. I was at The Dip at 10 ish and there were six kiters out and things were looking good, then the rain came and the wind dropped and the kiters all packed up !!! After an hour and a chat with Mag and David Coles the rain stopped and the wind was back to 13 mph so rigged 9.4 to take the longboard out for a spin just as Ian arrived to windsurf. As I took to the water the wind had built and I was flying off the beach :) then at about 400 meters my uj broke again !!! :( and I found myself in the cold North Sea holding my rig with my board 3 m away !!! I tried swimming after it but it was heading to Bawdsey quicker than I could swim !!! I then slowly swam my rig ashore watching my board disappear and I have already lost one board here when my uj broke :( Then my hero - Mark Swain turned up and he ran half a mile up the beach, stripped off to his t-shirt and shorts and swam out to rescue my board - thats way beyond the call of duty - top man and a big thank you :) I had managed to get ashore by then and walked to give Mark a hand to carry the board back just as the coastguard arrived -thank you Ian for calling them !!! I then gave up with the longboard and rigged 7.8 and took out the Xantos and the bad day continued as nothing felt right , wrong sail/fin sea to lumpy and cold and I keep falling in :( So things can only get better - nice to see a few mates out on the water, lets hope it warms up soon :)
